About Us

Scott Todd Andrew Brynn Zack Spencer

BigRedWorks is a student-run maintenance company founded in 2006 by Scott Metherell, a Graduate of the commerce program at Queens University. Our first four years of success can be attributed to our dedicated leadership team, hard working employees and most importantly – our customers. This year we will continue to offer a wide array of services with the goal of helping you put time back into your weekend.

We look after your cottage and you get to look after the fun!

BigRedWorks has excellent knowledge of the water and will have no problem locating your cottage. This proved advantageous in previous summers as we were able to provide services for over 500 cottages in Go Home Bay, Cognashene, Minicog, and Honey Harbour. We also service outside of this area on a case by case basis.

We are both proud and ecstatic to announce that over the winter of 2007 BigRedWorks acquired sponsorship from Echo Tools After harsh summer storms, we put Echo Tools to the test and they delivered. We found out first hand that Echo Tools are built tough to meet the growing demands of Georgian Bay cottages. As it says on their website, tough jobs require tough tools!

We are continuously trying to improve our crew to serve you better. Please check out our Services page to find out what else is new for the summer of 2010.

We promise to deliver a quality service, in a timely manner. We show up when we say we will and we go above and beyond to meet your expectations.

Our Team

Over the winter our BigRed Crew had a lot going on. Scott enjoyed six months in Whistler, British Columbia. He was able to experience the Olympics first hand and cheer Canada to victory. While enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime experience, Scott also worked at the Crystal Lodge and managed to ski 83 days on the mountain. He is excited to be back in cottage country and looks forward to taking care of all your maintenance needs this season.

Todd completed his second year in the environmental engineering program at Conestoga College. Although enjoying it, he is ecstatic to call Honey Harbour home for the next 4 months. While crossing jobs off your to-do list, Todds enjoys he time outdoors and on the water.

Brynn attended her first year at Wilfrid Laurier University in the Business program. She thoroughly enjoyed her time in the classroom and on the field as one of the newest members of the Laurier varsity womens soccer team. She will gladly help with any questions, comments or concerns you have via phone calls and emails.

Andrew is returning for the spring after spending his winter in Whistler. He thoroughly enjoyed the Olympic experience and all the city has to offer. He will be working in cottage country for a few months then returning to Whistler to continue his job at the kids summer camp.

Kyle enjoyed visiting his friends in Whistler but looks forward to returning for the summer season ahead. Kayla will also be joining us again this summer after a good year at Wilfrid Laurier where she played on the varsity womens rugby team. Upon completing his last year of highschool, Jon will be back with the crew this summer.

We would also like to introduce Gord and Jordon, the two newest members to the team. They look forward to working with you and making the summer an enjoyable one.

The BigRed Crew is ready to put time back in your weekend by taking care of all your summer projects. Until next time, Happy Boating.
