About Us
During the summer and following his first year of Commerce at Queen's University, Scott Metherell recognized the opportunity to cater to a niche market of island cottagers within Georgian Bay and responded to this demand by creating and launching BigRedWorks in conjunction with his brother, Todd Metherell, and sister, Brynn Metherell. BigRedWorks is a cottage maintenance and barging business that has been servicing cottagers and community members within the Honey Harbour and Cognashene areas since 2006. The success of BigRedWorks can be attributed to our hard-working employees, dedicated leadership team, and most importantly - our customers. This year we will continue to offer a wide array of services with the goal of helping you take the work out of your weekend.

Scott Metherell
CEO
Originally from Burlington, Scott has been cottaging in the Honey Harbour area for the past 30+ years. Scott is a graduate of Queen’s University in 2009, where he received an Honours Bachelor of Commerce. Scott has devoted the last 16 years of his life to growing a successful and thriving business venture, working hard to coordinate jobs and a team of employees.
Todd Metherell
COO
Todd has been cottaging in the Honey Harbour area for the past 30+ years. Todd is a graduate of Conestoga College in 2007, where he received a degree in Civil Environmental Engineering. Todd is well known for his commitment to detail when accomplishing tasks, his comprehensive knowledge of the local waterways and drive to ensure that customer satisfaction is the top priority in every job.
Brynn Metherell, CPA, CMA
CFO
Brynn is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University in 2013, where she completed an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration with Co-Op. She has also completed her Chartered Professional Accounting & Certified Management Accounting designations. She currently works full time at Metherell Financial with her Father, Marty. Brynn looks forward to helping out behind the scenes this cottaging season.
Joe Marcot
VP of Field Operations
Working in the Honey Harbour area for 25 years, Joe has a vast knowledge of the area and years of experience in the maintenance and marine industries. He has worked in the background at BigRed for many years and brings many assets such as a certified marine mechanic and a certified health and safety trainer. He has spent years managing crews in the field and we are excited to have his leadership and positive energy here at BigRed.
In his spare time, Joe can be found hiking, traveling the world or getting a morning run in.
